Almost everytime the Shuttle goes up, it returns with small nicks
in its windows and tiles that were caused by impacts with small particles on orbit.

Shuttle window impacts like these are common and occur every other mission. Impacted windows
are analyzed in the lab for impactor material composition. Orbiting paint flecks have been identified as a source
of these impacts.
