about us

Almost everytime the Shuttle goes up, it returns with small nicks in its windows and tiles that were caused by impacts with small particles on orbit.

  • Shuttle Window: STS 94

  • Shuttle window impacts like these are common and occur every other mission. Impacted windows are analyzed in the lab for impactor material composition. Orbiting paint flecks have been identified as a source of these impacts.
